The Lost Property Office by James Hannibal - ADVISABLE

Hannibal, James R. The Lost Property Office, 387 pages. Simon & Schuster, 2016.  $17.  Content: G (some danger).

Jack, 13, his little sister Sadie, and his mother are in London because their father has disappeared while on a business trip.  Their mother’s only instruction to not leave the hotel.  When Sadie takes off after a man she thinks is her father, however, the siblings find themselves in a secret London, where magic is possible and Jack is actually a descendant of a long line of Trackers.  Now he has been drawn into a problem much larger than just his father’s disappearance, and potentially fatal.

For those who enjoy a little magic, a lot of mystery and teens doing courageous things, this is a sure bet.  The cover hits just the right note to help sell the book.
