Max, Alice, Nico, Luke, and Kat are all excited for their school Olympic event. When they find a threatening note, warning the school to cancel the event, they are nervous, but decide to try to solve the mystery. As the events began to go wrong, it looks like someone is sabotaging the Olympics in a dangerous way. Will the friends be able to solve the mystery before the event is cancelled?
This book is presented like a 2nd-3rd grade chapter book, with large font, short chapters, illustrations, and short length, but its quite complex in characters and plot. The story dives right into all the many main characters and I found that really confusing. I think it would easier for these younger readers to access if it followed the narrative of one character. The mystery component woven throughout the story added interest. The illustrations are wonderful.
