How to Live Like an Egyptian Mummy Maker by John Farndon -ADVISABLE

Farndon, John How to Live Like an Egyptian Mummy Maker 32 pgs. (Hungry Tomato) Lerner, 2017. $24.99  NON-FICTION
This book follows the story of a mummy maker to be. He starts his journey to embalming school where he learns about the gods and to read and write, he learns the art of embalming including all the secret rituals. Finally he gets his chance to embalm a real pharaoh. Readers also learn many interesting facts about grave robberies. Includes bright and varied full color illustrations.
This was a great read that is sure to be popular in your library. While it warns that its gruesome, I think that it would still be ok for younger readers, especially if their parents were reading it with them or they were just looking at the illustrations. I like the format because the story portion hooks the student into a relate-able scenario of someone their age starting school just like them.
