The Candymakers and the Great Chocolate Chase by Wendy Mass - OPTIONAL

Mass, Wendy The Candymakers and the Great Chocolate Chase, 534 pages. Little, Brown and Company, 2016. $18.99. Content: G

Logan, Miles, Philip and Daisy became friends--and a team--during the competition to create a new candy. Now they are back together, embarking on a road trip to publicize the Harmonicandy before its big release. The road trip will also give them a chance to decipher the mysterious clues that surround the actual chocolate they used to make their winning candy. Along the way, each one of them will also learn something more about themselves and further tighten their bond as friends.

This is a clean, fun book for kids who love candy and adventure. It is a sequel and I think a reader would do well to read The Candymakers first because the author gives a lot of background but not everything is clear if you have not read the first book. Kids will really enjoy the adventure these young preteens get to go on. That being said, I found this book exceptionally long and I think it could have been greatly improved with some harsh editing.
