Ballpark Mysteries: The World Series Curse by David A. Kelly - ESSENTIAL

Kelly, David A.  Ballpark Mysteries: The World Series Curse, 134 pgs. Illustrated by Mark Meyers  CHAPTER BOOK $5.99  Content: G.

Cousins Mike and Kate are at the first game in the World Series.  The Chicago Cubs are playing the Boston Red Sox, but someone is trying to interfere with the game and making the Cubs lose.  Mike and Kate begin to investigate the behavior of some of the people that work at the stadium and solve the mystery of who is thwarting the Cubs.

These chapter books are great for sports fans in 1st-3rd grade.  There is the right amount of baseball to mystery, so it isn’t just a bunch of play-by-play sports action, but also some fun who done it.  My six year old son got so excited when the final game of the World Series was explained at the end of this book he was cheering out loud.

EL (K-3) – ESSENTIAL.  Reviewer, C. Peterson.
