The Last Chocolate Chip Cookie by Jamie Rix -- ADVISABLE
The boy in this story is all prepared to take the last chocolate chip cookie on the plate, but then his mom tells him it's only polite to offer it to everyone else first. And so he does. He holds the cookie out to his grandma, his dentist, a baker in Mexico, and even an alien in outer space. No one wants it. Now can he eat the cookie?
This is an amusing book about the perils of taking a popular phrase too literally, and is clearly not to be taken seriously. The twists in both the middle and end add a little extra fun, as do the colorful illustrations.
