In this story of friendship Maggie and Paula have a hitch in their
wonderful friendship when a bully gets involved. Maggie is a giant clumsy
elephant and Paula gets caught up in a ‘friendship’ with the bully as they make
fun of her. When its Paula’s turn to be bullied, will anyone stand up for her?
This is wonderful story that is missing one or two important
pages. Paula never apologizes to Maggie!!! That is such an important lesson for
students readers, sort of the whole point of the book. There is an illustration
where Paula looks contrite but the apology is never said aloud. Why is not
included!? WHY!? If not, it would be a top notch story! Going to have to go
with optional now, shoot!
