How to Eat An Airplane by Peter Pearson - ADVISABLE

Pearson, Peter How to Eat An Airplane, illustrated by Mircea Catusanu. PICTURE BOOK. Katherine Tegen Books, 2016. $17.99. Content: G.

Eating an airplane sounds like a crazy idea, but if you are going to try there is a clear way to go about doing it. This amusing "how to" picture book explains how to throw an airplane-eating party, when to serve the landing gear, and even how to eat around the lavatories.

It all sounds a little bit absurd and it definitely is. I found myself laughing out loud at the tongue-in-cheek humor of this guide to airplane-eating. Along with the eating tips, the author throws out a lot of interesting facts about airplanes. The humor of the book is great but would not be appreciated by a younger audience. Upper elementary and middle school readers will love it.
