A Hole in the Wall by Hans Wilhelm- OPTIONAL

Wilhelm, Hans. A Hole in the Wall, PICTURE BOOK. Holiday House, 2016. There is a mirror on the wall, but a large group of animal friends think it is a hole. Each animal goes to the hole and sees that there is an animal just like them inside. When they tell the other animals, each one is in denial because they have only seen an animal that looks like themself. When they all go as a group to look, they see all the animals are inside and they all were correct. I didn’t really like the artwork in this book and the story was too repetitive for me. It got a bit boring. The fable that inspired the story is provided in the back of the book. PRE-K, K-3- OPTIONAL. Reviewed by Shay, High School Librarian
