Rethinking Normal a memoir in transition by Katie Rain Hill - PUBLIC

Hill, Katie Rain Rethinking Normal a memoir in transition, 264 pgs. Simon & Schuster, 2014. $17.99. Language: PG13 (23 swears 4 Fs); Mature Content: R (sexual situations); Violence: PG13.

Katie Rain Hill is a student at the University of Tulsa. She was the first transgendered person to graduate from High School in Oklahoma and is a public speaker and advocate for LGBTQA rights. This is her story. Gendered and socialized male, Katie was in high school before she had the courage and support to come out and begin the transition from Luke to Katie; living as a girl and experiencing gender reassignment.

Katie's truthful heartbreaking story is well written and engaging, and is a great source for a transgender story, however, the subject matter and frank discussion of sexuality and surgery may place this title at the public library only.
