Pigsticks and Harold and the Tuptown Thief by Alex Milway –OPTIONAL

Milway, Alex Pigsticks and Harold and the Tuptown Thief 66 pgs. Candlewick, 2015. $12.99  Content: Language: G (0 swears); Mature Content: G Violence: G
Pigsticks makes a statue to be the prize at the Tuptown Butterfly ball and it goes missing. He enlists his friend Harold to help out solving the puzzle. Together they try to solve the mystery and they question their friends. Will the Butterfly ball have to be cancelled?
This book sort of functions as a chapter book and features absolutely darling illustrations. That being said the story is sort of nonsensical and offbeat, making it too odd for students to follow, make predictions, or make sense of. It can't hurt either though, so if you like the art, its wholesome, just not something I would spend my very limited library budget on.
