Rocket the dog is back (you don’t
have to have read his other books to enjoy this one). Rocket and his friends frolic fabulously through the alphabet while
having fun. Each alphabetical letter is given a page and
the only way it is distinguished is by bolding the first letter of each word
that it is in. For example, “Bella balances on a ball while
a big blue butterfly watches.” There really isn’t a central story, but each
page has its own vignette with an ode to each letter. The illustrations are bright, fun, and the
animals are very appealing. Kids will
enjoy this nontraditional ABC book with a bonus ABC poster (the back of the
book jacket).
