Keepers of the Labyrinth by Erin Moulton - ESSENTIAL

Moulton, Erin E. Keepers of the Labyrinth 287 pgs., Philomel Books, Language: PG(5 swears 0 “f”); Mature Content: PG;  Violence: PG.

Lilith lost her mother in an unfortunate accident, a tragedy. Now as Lilith travels to her mom’s home town, Crete, she hopes to find out more from one of the counselors at the GIrl’s Youth Leadership Camp. As the danger increases, Lilith and her friends stumble across the Labyrinth, a twisting maze with death puzzles at every turn. With pursuers on their trail, the four friends must solve the puzzles...or die along the bodies of others. The timer has started. Can the girls get out...or will they be left there at the mercy of the labyrinth?

I really liked this book. It was full of Greek mythology, one of my favorite things to read about. It was an-edge-of-your-seat book for me. There were surprises at every turn of the page and completely changed my perspective on the Labyrinth and its story. Mature Content is PG because there are deadly things happening to these girls through every chamber, most of which would give a young child nightmares. Violence PG because the things happening to the four friends are more like battle scenes, not things that should happen on a normal basis. They are also described in immense detail.
