Sacajawea: Lewis and Clark would be Lost without me (Women who Broke the Rules) by Kathleen Krull -ADVISABLE

Krull, Kathleen Sacajawea: Lewis and Clark would be Lost without me (Women who Broke the Rules) 48 pgs Bloomsbury, 2015. $16.99  NON-FICTION
The life story of the famous Sacajawea is told here with a heavy dose of honest, wit, humor, and clarity about what is guessed about her life from speculation. Emphasis is placed on the importance of her essential contributions to the Lewis and Clark expedition. Features tons of top notch engaging illustrations.
The Cover is AWFUL, why! WHY!? The illustrations inside are stunning and add to the text. Despite the horrendous lack of cover appeal, this is an excellent book, perfect for 3 grade and up. I love the author’s voice and learned many facts I didn’t know, such as that her child that traveled all the way on her back, lived a long life and probably has many decedents. Includes a great list of websites for further reading and activities.
