Jasper and Joop by Oliver Dunrea -ESSENTIAL

Dunrea, Oliver. Callie Jasper & Joop, PICTURE BOOK. Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, 2013. $12.99.

Jasper and Joop are very different Geese. Jasper likes to have everything in its place and to stay neat and tidy. Joop likes to keep things disorganized and messy. Jasper follows Joop along one day and tries to stay out of trouble while Joop plays with all the other animals and makes a fun mess. Eventually, Joop gets into some trouble with the bees in the beehive and he and Jasper have to run away, getting into all sorts of filthy situations. Jasper decides that sometimes getting a little grimy can make for a lot of fun.

This is a continuation of the Gossie and Friends series as well as an early reader book. It will be an important addition to any school that already carries the series and as with all of the Gossie and Friends books, the pictures are sweet and the content is even sweeter. Content: G.
