Little Bird Takes a Bath by Marisabina Russo -- ADVISABLE
After a rainstorm, Little Bird is on the hunt for a puddle in which to take a bath. He finally finds what he thinks is the perfect spot -- until passersby splash the whole thing away. Dejected, he heads back home, only to find a fountain on the way. Thrilled, he settles in for a nice, long splash.
While not necessarily memorable, this is a cute, sweet story with large, colorful pictures. It would work well for a read-aloud, especially in conjunction with a unit on birds or a lesson on learning how to roll with the punches.
