Killer Whale (Extreme Adventures #7) by Justin D’ath -ADVISABLE

D’ath, Justin Killer Whale (Extreme Adventures #7) 144 pages Kane Miller (EDC), 2015. $4.99 Content: Language: G (0 swears); Mature Content: G Violence: PG
Sam, his dad, and his little brother get to go on a plane tour of Antarctica and they are thrilled. But when the plane engine stalls, they must crash land on the ice sheet. Sam and Harry find themselves separated from the grownups and a Killer whale is very hungry. Soon enough the boys find themselves acting in defense of whales, will they risk their lives to save the creatures that have tried to eat them?
The action never stops in the series, and this features some intense adventure and danger. Things get political when they join an anti-whaling ship trying to defend a pod of whales from the predations of Japanese fisherman. The characters’ lives are at stake in new situations on almost every page. Reads like you are watching a movie, which would be quite appealing to todays readers. Also manage to build characters at the same time, which I am actually surprised about. Better for upper elementary due to the intensity and controversial politics.
