The Octopus Scientists by Sy Montgomery - ESSENTIAL

Montgomery, Sy The Octopus Scientists: Exploring the mind of a mollusk, 66 p.  NON-FICTION.  Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, 2015.  $19.  Content: G.

Yes, an octopus does have eight tentacles – and that is the extent of what most people know about the octopus.  Come with us to French Polynesia where many scientists work together to study the different species of octopi in the coastal waters around the island and hopefully apply what they learn to help human.

This title in the Scientists in the Field series brings extensive information about life in the field – forming hypothesis, finding animals to study, comparing information to previous bodies of work, and even understanding that a few observations do not necessarily bring any kind of concrete conclusions, even if they do provide large amounts of information.
