The Witch at the Window by Ruth Chew –ADVISABLE

Chew, Ruth The Witch at the Window 144 Pages Random House Books for Young Readers, 2014 (reprint from 1984). $15.99
Siblings Nick and Marjorie discover quite a few unusual things at the park, a big spoon, a talking bird, and a tree that leads to a secret room. When they experiment with a spell book they find, will the fun they have lead to more trouble than they can deal with?
I love Ruth Chew books, they have such a timeless feel. For such short books, she really creates a sense of distinct characters and great brother/sister relationships. I love they are spooky without being super scary. Her books are highly sought after in October and these new covers should broaden that.
