Simple Machines: Wheels, Levers, and Pulleys by David A Adler –ADVISABLE

Adler, David A Simple Machines: Wheels, Levers, and Pulleys Holiday House, 2015. $17.95 PICTURE BOOK/NON-FICTION
This book is an explanation of simple machines that takes care to refer to everyday objects that are relatable to young students. Seesaw as a level, Slides as an inclined planes, teeth as wedges. Also a discussion on Friction, wheels, and more. There is also a cute funny little cat that helps out in many of the scenes.
This is a great book for lower elementary, especially because of the choice to relate the simple machines to objects that children will be familiar with. The pictures are perfect lower grades, and the text would work best for 2-3 grades. In either case, a instructor would find this book as a valuable addition to any unit. Features fun watercolor illustrations that are simple and harmonious to view.
