Hunter by Mercedes Lackey - ADVISABLE

Lackey, Mercedes Hunter, 382 pages.  Disney, 2015.  $18.

Mature Content: G; Language: PG (3 swears, 0 ‘f’); Violence: PG (fighting monsters, one gladiator style fight).

Joy has been sent from her remote mountain village to the one major town in her country – called to the city by her uncle, who is in charge of the Hunters – people who have magical companions who help them battle the creepy monsters who escaped to Earth from another dimension.  While Joy resents leaving her home, she has no idea how powerful she really and how much her powers and her compassion are needed.

Mercedes Lackey is a Fantasy/Science Fiction goddess!  She ahs so many series going already, I don’t know how she keeps it all up.  I am so glad she has turned her talents and imagination to books meant for the YA crowd.  I have many of her books on my shelf and I am always thrilled when someone discovers her.

MS, HS – ADVISABLE.  Cindy, Middle School Librarian, MLS.
