Hoppelpopp and the Best Bunny by Mira Lobe - ADVISABLE

Lobe, Mira, Hoppelpopp and the Best Bunny. PICTURE BOOK. Holiday House, 2010 Language: (0 swears, 0 “f”); Mature Content-G; Violence: G;

This sweet story is about 5 best friends who learn a valuable lesson of the power of comparing themselves to one another. Binny, Benny, Bernie, Bonnie, and Buddy do everything together.  They are the best of friends until Hoppelpopp bunny comes along and starts having them compete against each other to see whose better.  They find themselves at odds until a tragedy stricks and they have to band together to solve their problem.

Cute illustrations and great story but I am also a bunny lover.   I think the ending could have been stronger.  They had an opportunity to talk about each bunnies choice and the consequence of acting better than anyone else.

I want to order this book simply because "Hopplepop" is so much fun to say out loud. There's something very satisfying about it.
