A Lullaby for Little One by Dawn Casey - ADVISABLE

Casey, Dawn. A Lullaby for Little One, PICTURE BOOK. Nosy Crow (Candlewick), 2013. $12.99. Content: G.

A Daddy rabbit and his Little One go on a mini adventure before bedtime one evening. They laugh, chase, shout, and play games. Mouse, Owl, and Bear come to join in the fun too. Suddenly Little One gets all tired out and Daddy must take him home to bed while humming a lullaby.

It was so refreshing to have a picture book that focuses on a relationship with the father of child. There are a few, but I think there are definitely more that focus on mothers. The pictures in this book are so, so sweet and you have to fight the urge to rub the pages because they look so textural. The rhyming text combined with the wonderful artwork make this a perfect bedtime book.
