Waterfall by Lauren Kate - OPTIONAL

Kate, Lauren  Waterfall (Teardrop #2),383 pgs.  Delacorte Press, 2014.  $18.99  Content: Language: PG-13 (7 swears); Mature Content: PG; Violence: PG-13.

Eureka cried her forbidden tears which caused a catastrophic flood, killing millions of people on earth.  Ander takes her to see someone that he thinks can help them figure out how to defeat the evil leader, Atlas, and they learn about their history.  Eureka’s father and two siblings, as well as Ander come with her and she is hoping to save her best friend Brooks, even though his body is currently possessed by the evil Atlas.

This book is wackadoodle—and I don’t say this often or lightly, but I HATED this book.  The main character is all over the place—she is not loyal and her motives are never clear, but she is always selfish.  The storyline is stagnant because the author is constantly introducing new magical elements that she explains in boring detail and does not move the story along.  And then in the end, it’s like bam! The End—and it’s crappy and weird and not at all where I wanted to be after reading two books in this series.   Ugh-horrible.  The violence is because the main character kills someone in revenge and there are dead bodies everywhere on earth.
