A Castle Full of Cats by Ruth Sanderson -- ESSENTIAL
The queen loves cats, and has filled her castle with them. Only problem? The king is, well, not a cat person. The queen's kitties, sensing this, try to butter him up, but it's not until he makes a big decision of his own that they can all get along. This book is perfect for cat-lovers -- or those who, like the king, firmly prefer other pets. The illustrations are hilarious, detailed, and tell whole stories in themselves, and the rhyming text has a great rhythm to it. The ending is a lot of fun as well.
