Pearl is a bit of a snob, she isn’t very nice to the other students, she thinks school is boring and craves excitement. After being given a story telling assignment, her classmate Rocky discovers a scroll about pirate treasure. The students are excited but worried about ghosts. Pearl is determined, and even has some adventures on her own, which, thanks to her attitude, no one believes her about. Will she learn a lesson about friendship and helping others and be rewarded?
This series is growing on me just a bit, and its very popular with students. I think this book is one of my favorites so far, it includes some life lessons, students creating stories, pirates, and ghosts. Who wouldn't love that? This one refers to small things from the earlier books, so its not great as a stand-alone.
