O’Ryan, Ray The Prehistoric Planet (Galaxy Zack #3) 128 pgs. Little Simon, 2013. $15.99 Content: Language: G (0 swears); Mature Content: G Violence: G
Zack lives on the planet Nebulon, where space travel is common and technology is advanced. He has already had some space adventures, but in this 3rd book in the series, Zack meets a real life Dinosaur. It’s a baby pterosaur and is lost from its home planet. Will Zack be able to join the space mission to the Prehistoric Planet and reunite the baby with its family?
I was fairly confused at first, having not read the probably necessary first book in the series. I thought that the sci-fi mixed with prehistoric was a bit confusing as well. But once I figured out what was going on I found this to be a fun story. There isn’t much by way of the sci-fi genre for easy to read chapter books, so I was happy about that. Tons of Jetson like illustrations clarify and add to the story. I think students will be intrigued by the main character who is kind of a planet hopper and his simple and fun adventures.
