The Howling Ghost (Spooksville #2) by Christopher Pike –OPTIONAL

Pike, Chistopher The Howling Ghost (Spooksville #2) 128 pgs, Aladdin., 2014. $16.99 Content: Language: G (0 swears); Mature Content: G Violence: PG
In re-release, the kids of Spooksville have another adventure, as Cindy’s younger brother is kidnapped by a ghost. Sally, Adam, and Watch try to figure out the mystery, but between shark infested waters, a dangerous lighthouse, and a vengeful ghost, they have their work cut out for them. Will they be able to discover the history of the ghost and placate it?
I was very averse to reading this book after the first book in the series, which was more horror than spooky. But this one wasn’t as bad, and was more of a true ghost story. I like the character development and they mystery that played out in this book. I recommend this for middle school due to the hints of romance, and the level of vocabulary and spookiness.
