In the Beginning (Dinosaurs Book #1) by Plumeri, Arnaud – OPTIONAL

Arnaud, Pumeri  In the Beginning (Dinosaurs Book #1) 56 pgs. Papercutz, 2013. $10.99 Content: Language: G (0 swears); Mature Content: G Violence: G GRAPHIC NOVEL
This graphic novel features a little paleontologist named Indino Jones and his cute dog as they learn about a large variety of dinosaurs. It’s a series of mini comics that illustrate various species of dinosaurs and facts. The dinosaurs crack jokes, eat each other, name call, and make mischief. After each mini cartoon is a little fact box about different species.
It seems like everything from this publisher features itsy bitsy comic panels with even smaller words. The artwork in this one is a bit better than I expected and is bright and varied. I appreciated the attempt to make learning fun, but it’s a bit overwhelming and I started to get all the similarly illustrated dino’s mixed up. I wouldn’t add this to my library for many reasons but also because it features an elderly woman in a bikini being called a fossil. Not so funny.
