Benny Breakiron in the Red Taxis by Peyo – NOT RECOMMENDED

Peyo Benny Breakiron in the Red Taxis 64 pgs. Papercutz, 2013. $11.99 Content: Language: G (0 swears); Mature Content: G Violence: G GRAPHIC NOVEL
Benny Breakiron is a boy who has some secret powers: mostly strength and speed. He always tries to help, but often his strength gets him in more trouble than its worth. When a new taxi service moves into town, his friend Mr. Dussilifard might go out of business. Can Benny solve the deeper mystery of the new taxi service? Will Benny be able to help when his friend is kidnapped? Worse yet, what will Benny do when he catches a cold, and his powers fizzle temporarily.
I am glad that a publisher is preserving the history of comics by republishing the classics authors like Peyo (Creator of Smurfs). However I wouldn’t add it to my library, the story a bit challenging and old-fashioned for todays readers. The artwork is practically microscopic, which I am finding typical of this publisher, though the artwork is bright and varied. There may be some adults fans who would treasure this reprint -with a magnifying glass in hand.
