The Templeton Twins: Make a Scene by Ellis Weiner, illustrated by Jeremy Holmes - ADVISABLE

Weiner, Ellis.  The Templeton Twins: Make a Scene, illustrated by Jeremy Holmes.  261 pages.  Chronicle Books, 2013. Content: G.
The second Templeton Twins book (The Templeton Twins Have an Idea, 2012), is reminiscent of A Series of Unfortunate Events, the story is told by a quirky narrator and the children are exceptionally clever and are able to see through the villains’ many disguises and escape peril.  John and Abigail Templeton’s father the Professor has been hired by TAPAS (Thespian Academy of Preforming Arts and Sciences) to make an invention.  The dastardly duo from the first book return, Dean D. Dean and Dan D. Dean, intent as always to sabotage and steal the invention.  Only the twins can stop them.  The writing style is witty with footnotes, definition of words, questions for further study, and an appendix.  The illustrations are in shades of blue and add to the mystery and the fun.   Clever children everywhere will enjoy reading about the Templeton twin’s adventures.
