Is Earth reaching a point where the population will start declining?  What factors influence population growth?  What is actually happening to populations all over the world.  Andregg’s book is a lot to take in – well-written, filled with great information – but harder to digest for most middle school students, just because of the scope and complexity of the issue.  If your school has solid research units on current or controversial issues, this is a necessary addition.
