LaZebnik, Claire The Trouble with Flirting, 313 pgs.  HarperTeen, 2013.  $9.99  Content: Language: PG-13 (11 swears); Mature Content: PG-13 (teen smoking); Violence: G.

Franny is working as an assistant seamstress at Mansfield Summer Theater Program with her aunt, but she quickly becomes friends with all of the students at the program and has her eye on a cute boy named Alex.  Franny is disappointed when Alex starts to date the beautiful Isabella, and she is confused when Harry, the handsome best fried of Isabella, includes her in his list of girls that he flirts with.  Franny pines for Alex and looks for ways that he could become hers and brushes off Harry’s advances.  But is this fun summer flirting, or is Franny going to get hurt?

This is a quick light summer read with a fun romance.  The dialogue is witty and funny and although Franny makes some poor decisions they seem innocent enough that the reader doesn’t get frustrated with her character.
