Of Triton by Anna Banks - ADVISABLE

Banks, Anna  Of Triton, 246 pgs.  Feiwel and Friends, 2013.  $17.99  Content: Language: PG (2 swears); Mature Content: PG-13; Violence: PG.
In this sequel to Of Poseidon, Emma’s mom, Nalia, is recognized as the lost princess of Poseidon and Emma’s boyfriend, Galen goes undersea to get his brother, who was Nalia’s betrothed.  When Nalia and Galen’s brother find each other again, they are excited to reunite even though they thought each other dead.  When they return Nalia under the sea, the returning princess causes all the Royals to go on trial and the kingdoms of Triton and Poseidon are pitted against each other.  When it seems as though things couldn’t get any worse, Emma is brought before the judges as a half-breed and has to prove her Gift of Poseidon.
This series is an engaging version of mermaids.  Emma and her boyfriend Galen have great chemistry and the threat against the kingdom is interesting to follow.  The is a fast and clean read that young adults will enjoy.  The ending is also satisfying.
