SPF40 (Zebrafish #2) by Peter H. Reynolds –OPTIONAL

Reynolds, Peter H. SPF40 (Zebrafish #2) 128 pgs. Atheneum Books for Young Readers, 2013. $11.58. Content: Language: G (0 swears); Mature Content: G; Violence: G.

A second book in a series, we find a group of characters who were once in a band together, confronted by a summer vacation. They all do different things with their time from Art Camp to fixing up a mobile library.

This graphic novel is not a stand alone, as it doesn't provide an introduction to the characters. When additional characters are added, I was unsure who anyone was -especially when the viewpoint kept switching from place to place. I thought the plot was uninteresting and at times the lay out of the dialogue was confusing. The art work was fun and bright and would attract readers. Although the characters are teens, it totally has a much younger vibe, and it very wholesome. It would only add this to my collection if students liked the first book in the series.
