Rabbit’s Snow Dance by the bruchac's - OPTIONAL

Bruchac, James and Joseph Rabbit’s Snow Dance, illustrated by Jeff Newman.  Dial (Penguin), 2012.  $17.  Content: G.  PICTURE BOOK.

Rabbit of old had a gorgeous, long, fluffy tail, but also a large amount of impatience.  He wanted snow in the middle of summer and he was determined to make it happen.  Despite the other animals’ protests, he makes is dream come true – with a result that ends up sacrificing that beautiful tail.

Bruchac’s website says that this is a modern twist on a Abenaki folktale.  It will definitely be fun to read aloud and act out.
