Olivia Builds a House by Maggie Testa - ADVISABLE

Testa, Maggie  Ready to Read: Olivia Builds a House  Illustrated by Shane L. Johnson  Simon Spotlight, 2012.  $15.99  PICTURE BOOK  Content: G.

Olivia’s father builds houses for a living.  Olivia likes to help him build the model of the house and after she has helped her dad complete one of his models, her dad asks her to keep an eye on the model so it doesn’t get broken.  No matter how hard Olivia tries to protect the model, it gets broken when her dog and brother bump it.  Olivia knows that her dad is bringing home a client to see the model, so she decides to remake the model in the backyard using cardboard boxes and red paint.  The new client loves Olivia’s model and hires Olivia’s dad for the job.  Olivia is an adorable little girl pig who cares about her family and helping others.

This is a great addition to any library’s collection of Olivia books.
