Hanging By A Thread by Sophie Littlefield - OPTIONAL

Littlefield, Sophie Hanging By A Thread, 270 p. Delacorte (Random), 2012.  Language: R (21 swears, and 6 ‘f’); Violence: PG (visions of death, struggles); Mature Content: PG-13 (teen drinking).

After 6 years, Clare and her mother are back in their hometown.  The past two summers have had the town on alert, as a little boy was killed and then the next summer a teenager disappeared.  Clare has secrets of her own – when she touches a garment, she can feel strong emotions attached to it, and many times she receives visions.  When she picks up a tattered denim jacket, she feels when the missing girl died and now she has to decide whether to get involved – and how.

Littlefield does a good job of integrating the supernatural into the mystery, and includes a hot, if trouble, possible boyfriend for Clare, too.  With a little editing, this could have had a much larger audience.
