Courtship & Curses by Marissa Doyle - ADVISABLE

MS – ADVISABLE

Sophie has come to London for her first season, but her twisted leg makes any real courtship impossible – except for maybe fortune hunters.  And since her illness, she hasn’t had control over her magic either.  With the help of an enthusiastic new friend and her very handsome cousin, Sophie may be able to find some happiness.  But she had better figure out how to reclaim her magic, because her father’s life is in danger – and if she can’t save the Duke of Wellington, then Napoleon may sweep through the entire continent.

I think Doyle’s third book is her best writing yet.  Her look at the Regency Era was a satisfying blend of history and magic.  This is not the most popular of genres, but this is a solid entry for larger libraries.
