La Luna by Enrico Casarosa-OPTIONAL

Casarosa, Enrico, La Luna. Disney Hyperion, 2012. PICTURE BOOK.

A young boy goes with his father and grandfather to work on the seas beneath the moon. As the young boy climbs up to the moon, he finds himself pulled up by the moon. There, he discovers that when you touch a fallen star, they make a sound and more stars fall. When a big star falls and gets stuck on the moon, however, will the little boy be able to save it?

A cute picture book. Although the story drags on a bit, young children will appreciate the repetitive parts. The text is fairly simple. The pictures are well-done and complement the text well. Readers and young children who like books that have moon and stars in them as well as sea stories will like this story. PreK, EL(K-3). OPTIONAL. Reviewer: Kira M, Youth Services Librarian, WHI Public Library.
