Unfriended by Katie Finn- OPTIONAL

Finn, Katie. Unfriended, 341 p. Scholastic, 2011. $8.99.  Violence- G; Language- G (0 swears, 0 ‘f’) Mature Content: PG.  Madison MacDonald and her friends are finally back together, and things are going great. Despite the fiasco at Prom, there’s been no sign of her nemesis Isabel Ryan, and Madison is loving life with her friends and boyfriend. Until one day Isabel pops back into Madison’s life, threatening her with information that could destroy her friends’ reputations unless Madison wipes her profile off of the internet and becomes virtually friendless. I didn’t enjoy this book. The main storyline is based off of a group of girls who can’t seem to get through life without updating their “Constellation” statuses every few minutes. They’re too dialed into the network, and Madison makes it seem like the end of the world when she has to “unfriend” all of her friends. MS- OPTIONAL. Student Reviewer: AL
