Shields, Amy.  National Geographic Kids: Planes.  National Geographic, 2010.  $3.99.  PICTURE BOOK.  Content, G.   A book about different types of planes, narrated by a pilot.  Each page layout has a description of different kinds of planes and the interesting things they can do.  In a dialogue bubble, the pilot moves the reader from page to page.  The descriptions are fascinating, even for the experienced reader.  The pilot is a bit goofy and distracts from the reading.  Also, the cover says the book is for level 1 readers, but the vocabulary is too advanced for a young reader.  EL (K-3) – ADVISABLE.
