Brown, Tami Lewis Soar Elinor. Illustrated by Francois Roca. Farrar Straus Giroux, 2010, 40 pages. Content: G. PICTURE BOOK. What a great book! Beautiful pictures and good storytelling engross the reader. Elinor was the youngest licensed pilot in the United States and made a name for herself among other pilots when it wasn’t popular for women to fly planes. This book tells of a particular stunt that included her flying under four bridges in New York after being challenged by a male pilot. This book is inspiring and good history about a woman who followed her dreams. EL, MS - ESSENTIAL. Reviewer: C. Peterson
