Olympians: Athena, Grey-Eyed Goddess

Athena: Grey-Eyed Goddess (Olympians)
O’Connor, George, Olympians: Athena, Grey-Eyed Goddess. Neal Porter Books, 2010. Pgs. 77. Language: G Violence: PG Sexual Content: PG

Born from the head of Zeus, Athena was quite the goddess. There is more to her story, however. From how she came to be in Zeus’ head to how she saved Olympus from the Gigantes, see how Athena obtained the various pieces of her Aegis and became so well-known.

A great graphic novel for reluctant readers. The illustrations are well-done. The story is accurate. The background fact provided are helpful and presented in an easy-to-understand format. Readers interested in mythology, adventure, and Greek Gods will enjoy reading this book. EL (4-6), MS. ESSENTIAL. Reviewer: Kira M, Youth Services Librarian, WHI Public Library.
