The War to End All Wars: World War I by Russell Freedman

Freedman, Russell The War to End All Wars: World War I.  Clarion (Houghton), 2010.  157 p. $22.00.  They may call those who fought in WWII the “Greatest Generation”, but first there was World War I and those who fought and gave their lives.  Freedman turns his magic writing skills to this war and these people – the first modern war, well document on film in all its brutality.  This powerful book is an excellent tool to reintroduce this war to a new generation of students.  MS, HS – ESSENTIAL.
