Wild River, by P.J. Petersen

Petersen, P.J. Wild River, 120 p. Delacorte (Random), 2009. $14.99. Content: G. Ryan, 12, is more content to stay at home with his video games, but can’t get out of a river rafting trip with his older, more adventurous brother, Tanner. The river’s not so bad, but a really bad accident puts Tanner’s life in danger and only Ryan can make the choices to keep him alive. And all those video game hours may just come in handy. Be prepared for a wild adventure! Younger boys and older reluctant readers will love this. EL, MS – ESSENTIAL. Cindy, Library-Teacher.

this is a good book for 4th grade level children. A short and adventurous boy deals with a life or death situation and uses the little survival skills he knows.
